Maintenance Tips for BMW® Motorcycles
BMW® motorcycles are built with top-of-the-line materials and equipment. However, even the best-manufactured motorcycles in the industry are bound to fall apart if they don’t receive the necessary care and maintenance. To ensure your BMW® model is receiving the care it needs to last a lifetime, check out our helpful maintenance tips below.
Changing the Oil
Regular oil changes are the best way to ensure your BMW® motorcycle has a long service life. However, how often you change your model’s oil will depend on how regularly you ride, as well as the type of oil you use. For BMW® models, we recommend using a full-synthetic oil and performing an oil change between 7,000 to 10,000 miles. If you’re using a semi-synthetic blend, you’ll need to replace your oil every 6,000 to 7,000 miles, and 2,000-3,000 miles if you decide to use a mineral-based oil in your BMW® model rather than a synthetic blend.
Tire Maintenance
Good tire maintenance can help reduce the overall wear and tear on your BMW® motorcycle, as well as increase the overall performance of your model. To keep your tires in good shape, we suggest giving them a thorough inspection every 3 months or so. Be sure to check that each tire is filled to the correct PSI, doesn’t exhibit any obvious signs of damage—such as cracking, blisters, or bulges—and that the tread is worn evenly across the entire wheel and hasn’t worn down below 2 centimeters.
